How to beat this serial killer in 5 simple steps.
1 - As for real life serial killers on the loose the name of the game is being fully aware, but not about your surroundings, but of yourself. Catch the culprit as it stalks you. Watch for how it comes upon you at times of joy and happiness with the whisperings of all the reasons why it is not time, or 'it' isn't ready yet, or you're not quite ready for 'it' yet.
2 - Now you have discovered the patterns of your predator, begin to focus your attention on what you miss every time you allow this predator to inhabit a space in your life. What opportunities do you miss out on because of your search for the perfect time, situation, relationship, job, house, car, or anything else that you're still waiting for? Go beyond the physical and look for the feelings you have missed out on and what they were replaced with? Feel the pain of your loss and use it to motivate yourself to switch roles on this beast.
3 - Here is where you make your life altering choice. Continue to live in the trap of perfection, the serial killer, or step up and fight the beast? It is as simple as that. Just make the choice. If you chose to continue being a slave to perfection, that's ok, but you probably won't need to read anymore. If on the other hand you chose to fight this beast, then read on and gather your tools.
4 - Your strength and willpower are your greatest allies. Use them. Next time you feel perfection creeping up on you, use your strength to push through the barriers it's creating and take action. Don't stop yourself just because it isn't as it should be. When you falter, call on your willpower for perseverance in your fight for your joy, the elixir of a vibrant life. Allow yourself some freedom to make some mistakes, not only because you are human but because that is how you will learn and grow.
5 - Put things into perspective. Don't fall into the magnification mind trap. Your mind will magnify any perceived imperfections by up to 1000 times. The truth of the matter is that it is only your mind that sees 'it' that way and this is due to your invested emotions into the 'it'. Become objective and a little daring. I use the 'so what if its not how I think it should be? It's still awesome and I'm going for it'. The results are so empowering, I now hunt this killer to feel the power over and over again.
